Overview Of Role

FETCH is an incubated project within DGMT. FETCH unlocks the potential of young people and their communities to fetch a future they aspire to. Rooted in the Basic Package of Support (BPS)—a collaborative programme led by with the University of Cape Town and the University of Johannesburg— FETCH builds on a proven model of connecting youth to opportunities for learning, earning, and personal growth.

Through coaching and service-strengthening initiatives, FETCH partners with civil society to create lasting impact. The name reflects its mission: to Facilitate, Empower, Transform, Connect, and bring Hope—helping young people take charge of their paths to success.

We are looking for a Youth Ignitor to join our KwaXimba site team and support young people on their career development journeys.

Responsibilities

As a Youth Ignitor, you will:

  • Recruit eligible young people onto the Fetch Approach.
  • Support young people to complete their Starter Packs, including email addresses, CVs, cover letters, and other tools.
  • Provide application support and guide young people to referral services where needed.
  • Help run Peer Connect sessions for youth beneficiaries.
  • Participate in weekly team reflections, Rest Camps, and Youth Ignitor Connect sessions.
  • Accurately and timeously capture monitoring & evaluation data to keep dashboards updated.
  • Live and promote the FETCH values in all engagements with young people, partners, and colleagues.
  • Participate in monthly Role Connect sessions to learn from Youth Ignitors in other parts of the country.
  • Take on additional organisational responsibilities (10–15% of your time) as required.
Qualification
  • Matric (some tertiary education is advantageous)
Experience
  • Experience working with computers and digital tools

  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and goal-driven.
  • Strong communicator, able to share ideas with confidence.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and a supportive team player.
