In order to ensure the optimal functioning of the DGMT, we are looking to employ a visionary Human Resources Manager capable of supporting the entire employee lifecycle, providing strategic and operational support to all employees in the organisation. This is role ideal for an HR practitioner with a passion for people and flair for creativity.
We are looking for an experienced and competent individual that is able to positively contribute toward achieving the DGMT’s goal.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities:
- Providing operational support on a day-to-day basis to all staff and management
- Supporting the recruitment, onboarding and probation process
- Reviewing monthly payroll in line with internal deadlines
- Assess training needs and deliver appropriate employee training and development interventions, including the adoption of appropriate technologies
- Develop, review and update HR policies and procedures, as required
- Support employee wellness and assistance interventions, driving a culture of wellness
- Support leadership team in shaping and strengthening organisational culture
- Provide consultative service to all employees and management regarding disciplinary procedures, performance management and restructures
- Ensure legal compliance with current labour law, highlighting risks and proposing compelling solutions
- Representing the organisation at the CCMA, as required
- Driving organisational restructure procedures, as required
Qualification
- An appropriate degree in Human Resources Management or Industrial Psychology
- A post-graduate degree in a related field would be advantageous.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in management of a small to medium-sized organisation.
In addition, the ideal candidate will have experience in:
- Using Sage 300 People
- Working in a fast-paced environment
- Predicting and assessing risk and developing and implementing mitigation strategies
- Developing and delivering training courses based on current and future needs
- Supporting management and employees in a horizontal organisation structure
- Representing organisations at the CCMA
- Excellent computer skills including use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

- Must be willing to travel within South Africa, as required.
